Hi-tech blogging on the go

Good day, gentle reader, I have just learned how to blog from my cell phone...I will try to figure out how or if it is even possible to add photos from the mobile device...meantime I wanted to report on having attended a great fundraiser last Thursday in aid of Animal Companion Wellness Foundation at the PawsWay on Queen's Quay in Toronto - what a fun night with a fashion show for people and pets, MC was Carlo Rota and featuring Louise Pitre - fab chanteuse - and Carrie Chesnutt, a great sax - I say sax - player, not to mention the buff models with GQ looks and washboard abs...

and since then

in reviewing this page: my last blog of 2010 mentioned the pending birth of grandbaby #2 then: no follow up! I am happy to report here, gentle reader(s), that the beautiful Arden Marie was born on her brother, Finley's, 4th birthday last October in B.C.
I attended this moving and exciting event, which took place at home with the kind assistance of a doula and 3 midwives.
Zipping back to the present, just hours ago I had a great Skype video call visit with Team Parent and the 2 grands as they were winding up their vacation in the South Pacific - bless technology!

blogging - subject matter

what do I blog about? I was recently asked and really had no answer - bloggers are quite rightly focused on a particular topic/subject matter: they write on comedy, visual arts, their children, food, travel, their passions...you get my drift...my problem is I drift...something comes up, a sight, a smell, an idea, a snippet of a conversation...or I take a photo while out meandering and voila: I blog.
So the question made me think (a little) - meantime, combining two favorite topics, photography and food, here is a pic of the most delicious 2-color beet and goat cheese salad I had at dinner Friday night prior to attending a fundraising concert for the Christchurch, N.Z., earthquake relief.

in the 'hood

that's the grandparent-hood...have been in it almost 4 years with darling #1 whose birthday approaches and as it approaches, so does the arrival of darling #2, his little sister due October 1st...this is one of the nicest 'hoods to be in; once you arrive you get to stay and enjoy all the associated perks: falling in love with a new person, holding their hands, hugging them, bathing them, listening to their little sounds then attempts at speech, singing to them, making up stories for them, reading to them, watching them crawl, then waddle along then walk, run, climb; shopping for them - all these activities are legitimate and encouraged. So, you can enjoy your Bel Air, Pacific Heights, French Riviera, Arrondissement # whatever, Central Park, Kensington Palace Gardens, Westmount, Forest Hill, Rosedale - I'll take the grandparent 'hood any day.
